Andreas, you regularly conduct job interviews – what do you pay most attention to?
Honesty is key. You can immediately sense when a conversation is open and at eye level. That’s the only way both sides can truly understand what to expect.
Addiotionally I really appreciate when candidates come prepared with their own questions. It shows genuine interest and that they've thought carefully about the role and our company.
You mentioned honesty – is team fit more important to you than a perfect résumé?
Definitely. Professional skills matter, of course – but if the personal connection doesn’t work, qualifications alone won’t get you far. We work closely as a team, and interpersonal chemistry plays a big role.
Interesting – but to have those conversations, an application has to come in first. What does the process at QESTIT look like?
After we review the documents, someone from our recruiting team – sometimes me, sometimes a colleague – reaches out for an initial conversation. We discuss topics like notice period, salary expectations, and preferred location, but also check whether we click on a personal level. If both sides are on the same page, there are two more interviews: one with technical team members and another with the department lead. If everything fits, we extend an offer.
And what makes QESTIT special for you as an employer?
That everyone can really make an impact. We work together toward one goal – the best possible quality for our clients. There’s strong mutual support, and you feel that every day.
Sounds like a strong company culture. How would you describe it?
Human, open, honest. You’re really seen and heard here. I feel taken seriously, my ideas count – and I think many of my colleagues would say the same.
Speaking of ideas: Is it easy for you to contribute your own suggestions?
Yes, definitely. We're a company that’s constantly evolving. That includes challenging the status quo and contributing new ideas. Leadership actively encourages that.
If someone asked, “Why should I apply to QESTIT?” – how would you respond?
Because quality assurance in software testing is more important than ever – and that’s exactly where QESTIT comes in. We work on exciting projects for well-known clients, and our work has real impact.
And we offer a supportive, trust-based environment where you can grow both professionally and personally.
And what convinced you to join QESTIT back then?
Right from the start, I felt the atmosphere was honest and respectful. The role was a perfect fit – and I’ve never regretted the decision.
Before we wrap up: is there anything you’d tell your past self on your first day at QESTIT?
I’d say: Good decision! You’re in the right place, with a great team behind you and room to grow.
