Head of Competence Center Insurance

As Head of Competence Center Insurance, you will lead the growth of our Insurance unit while staying close to delivery. You set the strategic direction, provide hands-on consulting support, and enable the sales process with strong domain expertise. Building on our established presence in Germany, you lay the groundwork to scale across the full DACH region and drive sustainable market expansion.

These tasks await you with us:

• You lead the growth and strategic evolution of our Insurance Competence Center by establishing efficient processes, data-driven performance management, and scalable best practices.

• You continuously sharpen our insurance service portfolio, bring strong domain expertise into pre-sales, and uncover new business opportunities across the DACH region.

• You own business-focused testing initiatives, build reusable accelerators, and steer insurance transformation testing end-to-end from design through delivery.

• You increase the Competence Center’s market visibility through targeted industry formats and strengthen Q’s positioning as a trusted quality and transformation partner in insurance.

• In delivery, you manage external test teams, ensure tight alignment across business stakeholders, business analysts, and engineering, and keep communication clear and effective.

• You define test plans and test concepts and take overall responsibility for planning, steering, and governing all test activities.

• You ensure the right test coverage by selecting appropriate test types and levels, maintaining a clear view on quality, progress, and risk.

• You evolve test strategies, drive test automation, and step in hands-on to support projects whenever required.

HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE YOUR STRENGTHS WITH US:

• You have 5+ years of test management experience in the insurance domain and understand what it takes to deliver complex transformation and core modernization programs successfully.

• Experience in the msg ecosystem (msg, msg life, msg systems) is a plus, as is a background in comparable insurer-side or consulting programs.

• You bring solid domain knowledge across typical insurer initiatives, including core modernization, portfolio migrations, and portal or partner integrations.

• You work confidently with Jira, XRay, HP ALM, and/or Azure DevOps, using these tools to drive structured planning, execution control, and end-to-end transparency in testing.

• You combine program or project management experience with a hands-on, accountable mindset and a structured, solution-focused approach.

• You are flexible and willing to travel to support clients on-site and ensure successful delivery.

• Professional communication and presence, along with strong German (C1) and English skills, round out your profile. ISTQB certification (preferably Advanced Level) is a strong advantage.
