QESTIT and Rauschwalde Secondary School Win 2nd Place in the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Award

Berlin/Görlitz, November 5, 2024 – QESTIT and Rauschwalde Secondary School were honored with 2nd place in the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Award in the category “Starter Cooperation School – Business” during the award ceremony held at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in Berlin. This award recognizes their exemplary partnership, which offers students hands-on IT education through real-world projects, enhanced career orientation, and exclusive internship opportunities.

A particular focus of the collaboration is on practical projects, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling students to develop a solid understanding of modern technologies while receiving targeted support. QESTIT introduces fundamental AI concepts and provides insights into applications that play a central role in today's IT landscape.

“This partnership allows students to experience computer science classes in a new, practice-oriented way. They work on real projects and are mentored by QESTIT experts who share valuable practical insights and technical knowledge,” said R. Bild, Delivery Manager and IT trainer at QESTIT.

Notably, the project “More Security on the Internet,” which has already received recognition in the national “My Digital World” competition, exemplifies the successful integration of theory and practice. “Through our collaboration with QESTIT, we have created a learning environment that connects theoretical knowledge with the reality of the workplace,” stated R. Koegler, a computer science teacher at Rauschwalde Secondary School.

The students also benefit from comprehensive career counseling and internship opportunities with QESTIT, which helps them make informed career choices and actively builds a professional network. This recognition provides QESTIT and Rauschwalde Secondary School with nationwide acknowledgment, reinforcing their collaboration as an innovative model project that will be further expanded in the coming years.

This partnership also enhances the appeal of the Görlitz region for the growing IT sector. “We are committed to youth career orientation because more must be done in our region to engage young people in IT careers at an early stage,” added R. Bild.
